Reds in nature: Okra
This was one of my major successes in the garden this year. Okra is ornamental enough that it's going in the front yard next year. This variety (Orange Jing, from Baker Creek Seeds) has an almost tropical look, with leaves up to 22" long and 18" wide. But today, the plants were knocked down by a blast of wind. There were so many buds and baby pods that were casualties, but I did manage to salvage a last few for a vegan gumbo.
